Irregular Mare Patch Ina (Photo)

The Moon may not be made of cheese, but it certainly is an imp.

Or, rather, it has an IMP.

An IMP is an Irregular Mare Patch, and they are strange-looking — almost “cheesy” — to say the least.

To find out more about one specific IMP, read Jatan Mehta‘s fascinating tale of The Irregular Mare Patch of Ina on his outstanding Moon Minute Monday (M3) website.

The IMP Ina, by the way, is located in The Happiest Place on the Moon, Lacus Felicitatis.
